Consumer Behavioural Study and Uplifting Kitchen Experience through IOT based Food Inventory Ecosystem
This project's research and work is done remotely and online in the lockdown period.
This project goes around the consumer behaviour in supermarket and home kitchen inventory management.
BRIEF
A device to help track the inventory and reduce the waste production
Managing food waste
Sometimes food stored in kitchen and ends up in waste because of no track of inventory. It often happens with items being expired or not using them as they are not visible
Inventory Handling
Inventory handling and managing the items is a skill. Sometimes users torget about the purchase or placement of the grocery item and this leads to its expiry. This makes them throw the it without tull usage
The 4 initial main problem addressed are :
1. Not Visible
2. Quantity Check
3. Forgets purchase / place
4. Expires
A round of research was done to understand and analyse the Task, User Touch Points and behaviour with Space.
This research helped in understanding their issues with time, approach and multi sociological aspects in User's life.
After the interviews and user study, Target audience was focused to working adults with family because they have responsibility to feed others need the ability to multitask.
They have the responsibility to feed them on time and also with a nutritious food intake. And with such divided attention it is difficult to manage everything. They also mentioned about how they do not have energy and time at end of the day and also how kids want to have this change in taste and experiment their taste buds quite often.
FINAL BRIEF
Assistant for checking and tracking on existing Kitchen items for Indian households.

HOW DOES THE DEVICE WORK?
Accessing your kitchen inventory from wherever you are !
DEVICE CONNECTION AND INTERACTION
The Scale Mats are connected to each other and stores the information like placement of item, category of grocery on it, scale of the item. This information will be sent to the Cabinet Device. These Mats also have an indicative light that glows up while finding that one product placement.
The Cabinet Device needs to be attached on the cabinet/drawer/container. This device is connected to the to Connecting Module / Bluetooth Module which is connected to the Scale Mats.
This device has a barcode scanner, scans the barcode and adds/removes the item in the inventory list as well as shopping list.
Main Device is a platform device and can be kept in any space near or in the Kitchen. This device connects to the house internet source and with the bluetooth device connects to the Cabinet Device (A,B,C,...).

In this Main Device there is a weighing scale for larger, bigger items, and a screen to check your inventory and add or remove items from shopping list.
The Main Device is then connected to the phone from an application. Where on can access kitchen from their phone.
